Built for sites where tolerances matter
Anyone can drop a 20-tonne excavator in a paddock. You don’t need bulk earthmoving; you need surgical precision where millimetres dictate whether the pipe laser hits the invert and the formwork drops straight.
From live water and sewer tie-ins to complex trenching alongside rail corridors like the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) upgrade, we integrate into your program. We turn up induction-ready, manage our own SWMS, and keep the trench through digging, laying and concreting — benched, battered or in an engineered shoring box, dewatered and finished so you are not arguing between crews. Deception Bay based — Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

What we dig
- Underground utility trenching and shoring SEQ
- Excavation around live services — Brisbane & Moreton Bay
- Benched or battered trench faces
- Engineered shoring boxes and trench shields
- Water, sewer and stormwater drainage trenches
- Precise site cuts and pad preparation — Sunshine Coast
- Benching and battering near live assets
- Rail corridor civil work and easements
- Pit, manhole and structure boxes
- Bedding trim, backfill, compaction and restore
Rail possessions. The clock is the constraint.
A track possession is when the operator takes a section of railway out of service so civil work can happen without a train through the cut. On the Beerburrum to Nambour (B2N) footprint that window sits with the principal and Queensland Rail — not with the trade crew. We work inside it.
Possessions are usually nights and weekends, booked months ahead, and they end when the last possession minute ends. Last train in, first train out. The trench has to be shored, plated or backfilled so the road can be handed back. There is no “finish in the morning.” Adjacent roads and live services stay live. Plant swing, spoil and people stay inside the pegs.
- Principal holds the occupancy — we hit the marks inside it
- Night and weekend windows, not a paddock shift
- Live adjacent track, drainage and utilities
- Handover before the first train, not after
That is why we do not publish an hourly rate for rail corridor civil work. A possession that overruns is program drag. Send the drawings and the occupancy window.
Benched, battered, or boxed.
An open vertical cut is not a finished trench. On SEQ ground — clay, sand, live water and sewer — we either bench or batter the faces to a safe angle, or we install an engineered shoring box (trench shield) and work inside it. The method matches the depth, the ground and the principal’s SWMS. Not a guess in the hole.
Digging first: underground utility trenching and shoring so laying and concreting stay on program — pipe laser and jointing in a supported trench, then pits, thrust blocks and encasement without standing in an unprotected hole.
How a typical day runs
Pre-start and permit to excavate. Confirm the mark-up. Open to the design invert, leave a benched or battered face or a boxed trench, and keep the spoil where laying and concreting can live with it. We work to the principal’s SWMS and plant — or tell you early if the ground wants a different machine. Insured, SWMS and site induction ready.
Rock, running sand and unidentified services change the price. That is why this page does not list an hourly figure. Send the drawings and the window; we will send a number that belongs to that job.
Next on the program: laying and concreting.
